God gives us an abundance of resources to sustain us while we are here on earth but abusing this privilege is detrimental to our safe existence here on earth. Faith is always in action, never passively waiting. We don’t just believe God for one thing and then doubt Him for other things. We don’t just believe and sit back and wait to see what God will do next. We will have to keep seeking and and knocking, searching and listening for His voice. His voice is heard by those who spend quality time in communion with Him. Its like knowing a spouse, the more quality time we spend with them is the more we understand them. Having faith in God is necessary for us to please Him. Without faith we cannot please God. Having faith requires us to dedicate time to be with the Lord. He desires the best that we have to give, not the leftovers. God desires quality time, not just quantity time. We know that we can spend a lot of time with friends and feel like we wasted our time. God wants to spend time with us as He did with our Savior and with Adam. When we learn to hear His voice and know it, we won,t mistake it for the enemy. Sometimes the enemy’s voice sounds so authentic but it goes against what the Word of God says. God’s children knows His voice really well. God is awesome and wonderful. He does so many things in our lives on a daily basis that we could never count them all. We as fallen humans look for what we didn’t get or what prayer He didn’t answer. It is amazing that we don’t thank Him for the prayers that He did answer. He never stops working on our behalf, 24 hours a day 7 days a week. He takes care of things that we don’t even know to ask Him for. He protects us from dangers that we cannot see. He keeps our minds from being overwhelmed by the enemy. There are so many things that God does that we could never number them because we would have to be Him to know all that He does. Every day when we are blessed to receive a fresh new day to live and breathe, we are to get on our knees before doing anything else for the day and give God thanks for allowing us this awesome blessing. Without life, nothing else would matter for the rest of the day. Getting your coffee, your breakfast, your shower, your clothing, getting to work, all that would never be possible without the first breath of the day. We are to give thanks as the first effort that we put forth for the day. God is worthy. God’s way is the right way! We think that our self confidence and self image is most important but it is confidence in Christ that matters and having the image of Christ as our image that is of utmost importance. Sometimes God takes us through the detours of life just to have us yield to His way. Many of us have many talents and if He allowed us to depend on our talents, we would never have a need for Him in our lives. Without God directing us we will go astray like the characters in story of the Tower of Babel in the Old Testament. God knows us better than we know our selves and He wants us to yield our carnal nature to Him so that our flesh will be under the Spirit control. The enemy of our soul, the devil, knows how to manipulate the unyielding flesh to do his wicked deeds. Sometimes we only see the short term effects of the actions that we take and to us it looks great but God knows the long term plan of the enemy. God knows how devastating its effect will work out in our lives. He knows that the enemy does not play games, he plays for keeps. Many times we are so busy asking God for more, that we never recall the blessings that He has blessed us with. We go from day to day wanting more and more, like feeding babies, never giving thanks for what we have. How many times this week have we opened our eyes in the morning and thank God for a good night sleep? What about a roof over our heads? What about running water to brush our teeth? What about eyes to see and ears to hear? What about teeth to brush? There are so many things that we are blessed with but we don’t take the time to appreciate God for. If we were to give thanks to God, we wouldn’t need to think up things to pray about. He would shower us with blessings that we wouldn’t know what to do with. We are in God’s favor all ways. Our lives are secured in Him. His protection and grace surrounds us daily. We have no need that God does not supply because His Word cannot lie. Our responsibility is to give God thanks for applying His favor to us everyday. God is our Lord and He is also our Father. He is not a dead beat dad as those that we have in this world that we live in. He assumes total responsibility for His creation and He is ever patient. He has never given up on us, even when we have given Him more reasons than we can count. When we learn to be grateful for His favor in our lives, He will open more blessings in our lives.
